GALLERY
One Way Pre School are proud to represent a large number of fantastic, intelligent children. Please feel free to browse below at some pictures of the children and their work in the school environment.
Outdoor Learning – we actively encourage staff and children to explore outdoor learning opportunities in the immediate and local environment.
Reading Opportunities – we firmly believe that children should be exposed to a variety of reading materials to enhance their literacy development.
Writing Opportunities – through enhancing fine motor skills, we develop each child’s ability to write, draw and design. Through the use of pens, pencils, crayons, felt pens, chalk, paint and other writing mediums.
One Way is an English speaking school environment. Each day, children are taught a 15 minute Shona lesson to enhance cultural and first language development.
Independent reading – children are taught the basics of phonic awareness and letters and sounds. They are then able to put these skills into practice though classroom reading corners, available throughout the day for the children to use at will to explore many different texts.
Outdoor Play -throughout the day the children are encouraged to play in the outdoor playground consisting of swings, slide, roundabout, see saw and jungle gym. We also have a variety of equipment available for use such as balls and bean bags.
We also have educational outdoor opportunities such as number play (hopscotch) and shape awareness.
The First Class!
Below are the first children to have enrolled at One Way Pre School 2013.
OFFICIAL OPENING
We were so excited to be able to hold a Launch evening to officially open One Way Pre School on the 26th March 2013. Many parents, friends, family members, pastors and church supporters came. The children performed some praise and worship songs along with some memory verses. Greg and Pastor Gatsi spoke a few words, a tour of the school was given with opportunities to see children’s work, and food was available (ice-cream and cake was very popular!)
Here are a few photos as a snapshot of the day
The children helped to bake 100 cupcakes!
Both Nursery and Grade Zero were very excited and waited patiently for their parents to arrive!
During Greg’s speech, we presented 3 of our volunteers with a small card and gift to thank them for giving up their time to support our school.
